Gorgeous Santorini is one of the cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. Its rugged landscape was brought about by a devastating volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, leaving it with the natural scenery that you can still see today. Santorini is famous for its white cubiform houses with blue roofs, and their two main locations: Fira and Oia, where views of the caldera can be seen.
This island holds such charm that it’s a favorite not only for tourists, but also locals. You can find it west of the Cyclades in the Milos region. The Aegean sea can be seen with its deep and magical blue waters, and it’s a great location for its beaches, hiking, mountain biking, and diving.
Naxos is the biggest of the Cycladic islands, and it’s an unspoiled region with great landscapes, ancient ruins, natural mountains, and gorgeous beaches. It’s well-known for its history, and one can visit Kastro, a stunning hilltop castle, to learn more about Greek archeology.
Decorated with natural beaches and traditional villages, Paros is an understated island in Greece. Enjoy the peacefulness that this location brings, and marvel at the naturally-shaped swimming coves.
Crete is the biggest island in Greece and a popular destination for holiday makers. It’s got the best of both worlds – exceptionally beautiful beaches and extensive mountain ranges. Here, you can visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum – a location that houses many artifacts from Cretan history.
This Cylades island is one of the top spots for partygoers during the summer. You’ll find an abundance of night clubs and discos, and tons of cool places to eat and have drinks. Mykonos is also famous for iconic landmarks, such as their 16th century windmills.
Must-See Ancient Sites in Athens
This fortress is a slew of ancient buildings that hold strong cultural and historical meaning. The area is symbolic of Greek civilization, and the monuments are considered some of the best in the western world.
Right in the heart of Athens, you’ll find the Temple of Olympian Zeus. It’s a former colossal temple, and is dedicated to the head of the Olympian gods, Zeus. It was once the largest temple in the world, and is still a huge monument worldwide.
This agora, aka public gathering space, is the most well-known in Greece. It used to be a hub for all things political, commercial, administrative, and social, and many people used to enjoy various events in this space. Today, there is a small a museum to learn more about the agora, featuring ancient artifacts.
Found 60 m. above the sea, the Temple of Poseidon can be found at Cape of Sounion. This structure was made entirely of white marble and was built to honor Poseidon – the god of the seas, in the middle of the 5th century.
Kerameikos Cemetery, while a less popular tourist attraction, actually holds a lot of significance and history. Here, you’ll find ancient graves, ruins, and a small museum containing archeological artifacts. It was used as the main burial site for one thousand years from the 12th century BC. This cemetery is quiet and allows for peaceful introspection and a dose of cultural history.

The Best Beach Clubs and Restaurants in Santorini
A true culinary experience can be enjoyed at Mezzo. It overlooks the Venetian Castle and is a historic mansion built in the typical Cyladic architecture. The restaurant, opened in 2012, can be found inside the hotel which was built in 1981.It has three levels, all offering peaceful views of the volcano and Oia.
Picture sipping on a cocktail and enjoying the company of the ones you love or a good book whilst overlooking the breathtaking Aegean Sea. This is essentially what you can look forward to when you visit Lioyerma Lounge Cafe Pool Bar. Their pool is the biggest in the town of Oia, and their name translates to “sunset” in Greek, an omen of what’s to come in paradise!
Visiting this restaurant is to indulge in delectable gastronomy by the sea. It can be found in Fira, and is a place to enjoy fresh Mediterranean cuisine, drink fancy cocktails, meet with friends, celebrate an event, or even participate in some quiet yoga or wellness treatments beside the ocean.
In Fira, you’ll find Argo Restaurant – a dining experience that encapsulates different tastes of the world. The space is relaxed, and the view is to-die-for on any level you choose to wine and dine. Inspired by its surroundings, this restaurant mimics the qualities of the surrounding sea and Cyclades.
A traditional and affordable spot in Oia, Melitini offers authentic cuisines of Santorini. This dining location wows its guests with family recipes that have been passed down for generations. They aim to remove the mass tourism feel and create a welcoming space for guests to be treated like friends.
The Best Beach Clubs and Restaurants in Mykonos
A hub for artistic, spiritual and social people, Scorpios is a place to represent those who have yet to be discovered for their creativity by mainstream culture. Here, you can listen to live music, and eat wholesome Greek dishes that are locally prepared, organic, and predominantly vegetarian.
Situated on one of Mykonos’s most popular beaches, Avli Tou Thoudori is has a cottage-style appearance with minimalistic tendencies. They not only offer impeccable views, but also excellent Greek cuisine and delicious cocktails.
When in Mykonos, you do not want to miss the vibe at Kalua. The space is decorated with simple yet elegant decor, there’s an ample outside space to marvel upon the beach, and at night – you can expect quite a party. Enjoy a great meal and or drinks, and some after dark fun at this well-known and upscale beach bar and restaurant.
A synonym that aptly describes Super Paradise would be “party”. This vibrant, eclectic beach club is the spot for clubbers, travelers, models and VIP celebrities. Enjoy life at Super Paradise as the music gets louder and the beach gets quieter.
This beach club’s tagline reads, “The sky is yours,” and that’s essentially the feeling you get when you step inside this unique vibe with stunning views of Super Paradise Bay. Spend your day on the beach, at the pool, in the Jacuzzi, or at their 360 degree bar.
