In March Liam and Stam had the pleasure of photographing Nicola and Francois’ intimate beach wedding on the private beach-front shores at Villa Ban Sairee in Koh Samui, Thailand. After meeting on the lovely Sydney coast, the couple tied the knot in an enchanting ceremony at the secluded resort amidst the glowing Asian sun and shady palm trees.

On holiday in Thailand Nicola and Francois fell in love with the area and couldn’t think of anywhere more perfect for their wedding. The Australian based South African couple married at one of our favourite locations in Thailand, the secluded shores of Koh Samui are almost tangibly magical, we feel that Koh Samui has a timelessly classic beach wedding feel to it and the gorgeous wedding embodied that simple elegance beautifully.

Their small group of guests travelled to Thailand from South Africa, Australia, the US and the UK; and it turned out that we have some mutual friends in London, which was lovely to share, it’s such a small world!

The fantastic Khun Aey at Dreamcatchers events created a fantastic, intimate beach wedding with only 20 guests, which gave the event a special kind of exclusivity and individuality. We loved having a wander around the beach and villa with the couple around dusk time, it was uniquely atmospheric and we feel that their wonderful personalities and their incredible bond really shine through in the images. Such a small wedding gave us plenty of amazing opportunities to capture some very personal and tender moments which was truly a delight.

Nicola looked perfect in her exquisite gown from Brides of Beercroft, Sydney paired with shoes from Boutique, South Africa. Nicola’s beautiful maid of honour Lyndell wore a stunning piece from White Runway, Sydney. The venue was delicately and sympathetically adorned with lights and elegant white floral decorations, teamed with such a wonderfully secluded venue the atmosphere was breathtaking. For us it felt incredibly special to have been a part of such an intimate and romantic wedding with such a delightful couple; we are so pleased that the warmth and love that we felt at the ceremony and reception shows through in the photos we captured. We hope that Francois and Nicola lives together are filled with as much love as we saw in Koh Samui.
