Kribs and Cian’s Indian Wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand
Liam Collard Photography was delighted to be able to photograph Australian bride Kribs and Irish groom Cian as they celebrated their truly unique wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand. Ban Sairee Villas, a beautiful, private group of villas located on the beach in the secluded town of Laem Sor, served as their venue.
Kribs and Cian selected wedding planner Aey from Dreamcatcher Events to organize their two wedding days, the first of which was a colourful Indian wedding ceremony for the bride’s family, while the second was an intimate Catholic church service and traditional white wedding reception held at a local Thai church. Following their second ceremony, the couple drove out to a Thai naval base, where we captured some amazing portraits along the coastline and with some of the guards who were on duty there.
Although the weather was cloudy and sometimes rainy, the bride and groom took it all in their stride. While it rained during the main course at dinner, guests did not run inside, but rather sat with umbrellas while they ate, creating a magical scene and atmosphere that made from some striking photographs.
This moment was accompanied by yet another fantastic part of the wedding, the evening entertainment, which was a display of fire dancers on the beach.
Kribs and Cian’s dual wedding was a really special affair; vibrant, and reflective of their different cultures. Our favorite shot that we captured over the course of their time in Thailand, though, was of the bride and groom alone on the beach, with their reflections in the sea beneath their feet.
