A great picture has the ability to make you feel inspired and passionate. And with Cat and Iain’s wedding photos, it goes without saying that the magic is absolutely palpable. This is because a personal touch was added by New York wedding photographer’s, Liam and Stam on their big day as well as their Gramercy Park Hotel wedding reception, due to their friendship with the newly weds.
They met in 2006, when Liam was living in Hong Kong, where he became friends with Cat’s brother, Cathal, and older sister, Ash. Little did Liam know that he (and Stam) would be given the opportunity to do Cat and Iain’s breathtaking New York wedding photography 10+ years later.
Of course, there were many special moments at their ceremony and Gramercy Park Hotel wedding reception, making it hard to choose only a few highlights for the blog. However, you’ll surely agree that these select few have the ability to make you feel Cat and Iain’s wonderful energy and connection.
The pair met one night in Hong Kong when Iain was promoting a house music party. He handed Cat a flyer, to which Cat swiftly ignored and persisted to boldly asked him out. Naturally, the party was the last thing on Iain’s mind at that point, and the pair planned their first date. Several years later, they found themselves on the west coast of Ireland, at The Twelve Hotel in Galway, with an engagement ring and a pair of bright smiles.
When it came to choosing the wedding location, the couple opted for something a little less conventional, and decided that New York City would be an absolute dream. So, family and friends gathered at the Trinity Church on Wall Street to celebrate the big day – a total of 89 guests coming from several countries worldwide. With six bridesmaids – dressed by Reformation, and six groomsmen, love simply filled every inch of the church.
When the moment finally arrived for Cat to walk down the aisle, she says that that was the happiest she had ever felt in her life. Iain, in absolute agreement, reveals that seeing Cat in her exquisite wedding gown by Galia Lahav Haute Couture was his favourite wedding moment. That, and having all of his closest friends and family together in his absolute favourite city.
After, a brilliant Gramercy Park Hotel wedding reception took place, a stylish location full of history and uniqueness – where guests enjoyed a chic and simple New York-style themed party, and entertainment from Scratch Weddings. Today, Cat and Iain enjoy the blissful feeling of being in love as newly weds, and we couldn’t be more happy for them!
