Intercontinental hotel in Koh Samui

Wedding InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam – Joanna & Harlan

New Yorkers and bride and groom, Joanna and Harlan married on 6th September, at the perfectly positioned InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort, high on a cliff with a prime beachfront location, an idyllic destination wedding perfect for enjoying the tropical Thai sunsets.

Joanna and Harlan’s guests travelled from across the globe including their home country the USA, Hong Kong and Singapore. Just before the ceremony it started to rain so everyone moved inside to the beautifully dressed lobby, the change in location for the ceremony was a huge success thanks to the services of the organising team at the InterContinental led by Petra Nahlikova.

Due to the weather we decided to set up the bride and groom portraits against the natural form and design features of this amazing 5 star hotel – a perfect Thailand wedding day venue providing fantastic photographic opportunities when the weather conditions aren’t so perfect.  Our favourite photo of the stunning couple is a portraiture shot of them smiling at each other, reflected in the mirror, we used a westcot ice light to light the bride and groom as they posed – you can find this photo in the above animated slideshow.

There was an amazing atmosphere during the wedding ceremony, beautiful glittering candlelight and fairy lights, great speeches that had everyone laughing, and after nightfall even time for a few hours of

Arran and Daniella – The InterContinental Hotel, Koh Samui

Thailand Wedding Photographer captures bride and groom – Daniella and Arran’s wedding day at The InterContinental Hotel, Koh Samui

On the 5th September 2014 on a beautifully mild weathered Thai day, with adequate cloud cover providing a very comfortable heat for the bride and groom and their guests, saw the wedding day of Arran and Daniela. The wedding ceremony took place in the comfort of the luxurious 5 star InterContinental Hotel, Koh Samui followed by a spectacular reception at the Kalyana, a private villa in its own bay “Laem Sor” on Taling Ngam Beach – the ultimate tropical privacy for a majestic Thailand wedding.

The elegant and beautiful bride Daniella is Filipino, born in Macau, China while groom Arran is English with Indian heritage, both living in Hong Kong, making their wedding day a truly international occasion. They also had an impressive team of ten groomsmen providing plenty of opportunistic fun shots while getting ready and on the beach.

Bride Daniella had organised a rather fantastic entrance to her reception, carefully balanced on the back of a very large

Shyam and Valerie’s Wedding, Koh Samui Thailand

As a Thailand wedding photographer I do not get to work at many five day events on this scale, a truly amazing week in Koh Samui Thailand with the amazing Shyam and Valerie, we had a welcome dinner, Indian and Vietnamese ceremonies all on the first four days. This then led into a spectacular finale at the Western Ceremony. All of it was beautifully designed and a pleasure to be invited to.

The final day of this extraordinary five day event saw Shyam and Valerie Ma tie the knot officially during their western ceremony. It was a truly beautiful afternoon at the Intercontinental hotel in Koh Samui, also known as ‘Baan Taling Ngam’, or ‘home on a beautiful cliff’, a stunning 22-acre resort, perfectly positioned overlooking azure seas and private white sand beaches. The day had everything, a beautiful venue, fantastic weather, amazing set up and flower arrangements by The Wedding Bliss by Nanya, and a bride and groom that were incredibly good fun to work with all week. Based in Thailand, here at Liam Collard Photography we’re fortunate to get to work on some amazing wedding events but this was one of the most beautifully put together. The morning was full of

Nina & Guy’s Wedding Day – InAsia Beach Villa, Koh Samui

On the evening before their wedding Nina and Guy held a pre wedding drinks party at the Intercontinental which set the beautifully intimate tone of this fantastic wedding. Nina and Guy chose a luxurious private villa called InAsia Beach Villa on Koh Samui’s west coast for their wedding day location in Thailand. We had spoken quite a while before the wedding so I was fully aware this Sumai Wedding would be a very intimate occasion with close family and friends, all with bucket loads of personality.

When we arrived early in the afternoon, there was plenty going on already, so were able to capture candid moments of both Nina and her bridesmaids and Guy and his groomsmen getting ready. We were blessed with stunning weather and after everyone was set to go, we headed down to the beautiful ceremony on the beach.

The entire wedding was held at InAsia Beach Villas, set on the famous white sandy beaches of Lipa Noi, offering two independent units, panoramic beach views and scenic Sumai sunsets, making it an ideal location for those seeking a wonderful Thailand wedding venue. The villa is also positioned close to a really cool Thai fishing village, so
