Jo and Joe’s Chic Italian Wedding in Dreamy Florence, Italy

British bride Jo and her Italian/Canadian groom Joe, first met thanks to Joe’s eldest daughter Marina who introduced them when they were out one evening socialising with friend’s at bar called Le Jardin in Hong Kong.

We have many mutual friends in common with Jo and Joe from when I lived in Hong Kong and more recently when they stayed at our condo in Thailand (Joe was waiting to start a new job). So we were thrilled to be asked to photograph their chic Italian wedding in Florence, Italy.

The Proposal

“On my birthday, Joe took me to my favourite 3 Michelin Star restaurant in Hong Kong called Otto E Mezzo. He was eager to get me home before the clock struck midnight, as had set up the sound system to go off at that time for the proposal! As I had no idea this was coming, I was reluctant to go home as was having such a great time. I kept whining ‘but it’s my biiiirtday’, finally however he convinced me with a ‘let’s go home and open up a bottle of champagne to see your birthday in’ so I agreed.

As soon as we walked in the door he proceeded to open a bottle of bubbles and put the music on.  He figured he had 45 seconds to get down on one knee and get his speech out before the chorus came on in the music, which was Train’s ‘Marry Me’. I just sat there mouth wide open in silence… he said, oh I didn’t plan for this! Answer me!!… to which I replied… absolutely!”

The Ceremony

Jo and Joe although based in Hong Kong decided to marry in Florence, Italy. Not only because of Joe’s Italian routes but because bride-to-be Jo had always dreamt of marrying in Italy ever since she was a little girl. She felt very lucky indeed when she fell in love with a Canadian Italian!

Their wedding ceremony took place at

Lucy & Gee’s English Summer Wedding at Longstowe Hall, Cambridgeshire

Dubai couple Lucy (English) and Gee (German) first met half way around the world at Doha Airport in Qatar. Since they live in the Middle East and have family and friends worldwide, they wanted to choose a location that was both meaningful to them and not too difficult for their guests to travel to.

They both liked the idea of having an English summer wedding since they have both lived in the UK and have family in Europe. As soon as they viewed Longstowe Hall in Cambridgeshire, they fell in love with it instantly – a wonderful British countryside setting, with beautifully manicured lawns and rose gardens and a picturesque lake.

Wedding Day Preparations

Lucy and her two bridesmaids prepared for the celebrations ahead with hair and make-up by local Cambridgeshire artist “Tiffany does Make-up” before stepping into their bridal outfits.  Lucy’s “something new” were her gorgeous diamond earrings gifted to her by her parents. They were the perfect addition to her glamorous bridal gown by designer Justin Alexander and shoes by Valentino.

The Wedding Ceremony & Reception

“Seeing all our family and friends in the same place at the same time was

Fiona and Andrew’s English Summer Wedding at Haileybury College Chapel

Now this doesn’t happen too often… Bride Fiona and her groom Andrew had their very first date at the BFI bar on the Southbank on 27th August 2014, and their wedding day exactly 2 years later on 27th August 2016!

Fiona adopted Fudge the Yorkshire Terrier you’ll see in their wedding photos just a week before she met Andrew. So it’s not surprising she took Fudge to meet Andrew on their second date while going for a dog walk in Primrose Hill to ensure she had Fudge’s approval too 😉

Andrew proposed with his late grandmother Florence’s beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring at the Corinthia Hotel in London, very close to where they first met. The engagement ring was given to Andrew’s grandmother’s in 1937 by his grandfather, along with a matching brooch, which Andrew’s parents had made into a necklace for Fiona to wear on their wedding day.

The Wedding Ceremony

Andrew and Fiona’s English summer wedding took place at Haileybury College Chapel (Fiona’s old school) in Hertfordshire. The beautiful chapel was constructed in 1877 and designed by architect Arthur Blomfield in the Lombardic Romanesque style. The actual school was founded by the East India Company a few years earlier in 1862. The chapel is topped by a dome and cupola which make a striking landmark that is visible from many miles away.

The bride and groom found out by complete coincidence

Tina & Matt’s Glamorous Wedding Photography at the Luxury Amanpuri Villa, Phuket

Tina & Matt’s international wedding celebration at the Amanpuri Villa, Phuket. What a fantastic way to start our 2016/2017 Thailand Wedding Season just one week after our trip to New York.

We first met Hong Kong expatriate’s Tina and Matt last April while photographing the marriage ceremony of their friend’s Robin & Jamee. Who threw a spectacular golf themed wedding at the Banyan Tree Resort in Phuket Thailand. As you can imagine we had been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time, and it didn’t disappoint!

Bride Tina and her partner Matt first set their eyes upon each other while socialising with friends at a bar in Hong Kong’s popular nightspot of Lang Kwai Fong.

The Proposal

Tina: “It was the first-time Matt took me to his family’s holiday home on Vancouver Island, a place very dear to his heart. We took a casual stroll along a pebble beach that his family calls White Shell Beach. Matt insisted we took a bottle of wine – why not J. We sat down on the pebbles and then Matt started to randomly ask my thoughts on a pebble in his hand…? It’s round, brownish black as pebbles tend to look like. I turned away, not thinking too much about his random question but the next pebble he proceeded to show me … was THE ring J.”

Wedding Ceremony & Reception

The couple chose Phuket, Thailand as it’s a place they call their home away from home both having holidayed there since they were young.  Tina with the help of

Stephanie & Paul’s Traditional English Wedding in Surrey

Bride and groom Stephanie and Paul first met in 2007 when they were both travelling in Bangkok. Seven years later, on 26th November 2014 groom Paul took Stephanie for a spontaneous dinner at The Shard. It wasn’t until they were about to leave that Stephanie realised Paul had arranged a romantic overnight stay at the premier London venue. As soon as they stepped into the room, Paul dropped to one knee and proposed.

Stephanie and Paul wanted a traditional English wedding, a grand venue in a secluded setting within its own grounds. So Botleys Mansion, a Palladian country house in Surrey was a perfect choice and large enough to house all 110 guests from their bridal party.

One of Stephanie’s favourite wedding day moments was getting ready in the morning with the girls, including her 9 bridesmaids! The brides elegant white wedding dress was from Allure Bridals and her shoes by designer Jimmy Choo.

Lydia & Matt’s Traditional London Wedding – Dulwich Village & The Gherkin

London couple Lydia and Matt first met at the Fence Bar in Farringdon when Matt was celebrating his birthday. A mutual friend invited Lydia assuring her that Matt wouldn’t mind. However, if you ask Matt the same question about how they met, he will explain that Lydia gate crashed his party! 😉 No matter which one is telling the truth they both say they are obviously truly delighted to have been brought together on that very special day. Before the proposal Matt and Lydia broke tradition with the arrival of their daughter Rose Luna. It was a beautiful time in their relationship and a perfect addition to their family, making Charlie a big brother and going from a family of three to a family of four.

The Proposal

When Rose Luna was just 3 months old Matt arranged a family weekend away to escape the bustle of the city for a few days to enjoy a peaceful setting with a trip to the Cotswolds in early October. The cottage was very charming surrounded by gorgeous countryside with a large roaring fireplace keeping the cottage cosy and warm. Once the children were in bed they settled down in front of the fireplace for a romantic meal opening up a bottle of champagne. They chatted for hours discussing the joys of their family, future plans and dreams. At that moment Matt proposed to Lydia asking her to be his wife, with a custom made diamond engagement ring from Hatton Garden engraved with the proposal date.

The Wedding Day

Lydia and Matt love the buzz of living in London and chose to get married in the Capital as it perfectly reflects who they are – a modern day city couple who enjoy visiting new restaurants and bars, exploring different postcodes and checking out London’s beautiful architecture. They moved to Dulwich village 3 years ago and have walked past their dream wedding day venue Christ Chapel, Dulwich Village hundreds of times as well as attending there regularly. The chapel gave them the traditional British service they were after as well as providing a fantastic personal touch with their vicar John Watson taking the service accompanied by

Susie & Michael’s Secluded Beach Wedding

Bride Susie and groom Michael are both Korean-American’s and first met at a friend’s party in New York City. They wanted a small and intimate destination wedding with close friends and family, so they could spend a few relaxed days together while enjoying everything a truly tropical destination wedding has to offer.

The Proposal: Michael’s proposal was ingenious and we salute his patience, waiting for the actual moment to arise! One of the first times they went away together they booked into a beautiful B&B in Vermont. Adam had a cunning proposal idea, he asked Susie help him do a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle, which actually took them all day to complete. You know that annoying moment when you’re missing the last piece, well that’s exactly what happened but of course there was a twist. Michael had placed, what turned out to be the last piece, into a jewellery box which he hid inside the closed puzzle box. Michael pretended to look for the piece while Susie grew increasingly agitated. Susie then decided to grab and shake the puzzle box, hurrah she heard something inside, so quickly tore it open and found a jewellery box… Michael quickly got on one knee and popped the question with the ring in his hand. After five seconds of silence, obviously in shock, Susie responded by asking “does that mean the missing piece is in here?” pointing to the jewellery box. Her first instinct was to finish the puzzle and then replied “Yes!” putting on her stunning engagement ring by jewellers Jerry Blickman.

The awesome New York couple arranged their small and intimate destination wedding at one of our favourite
